Augie's new baby brother has arrived! Tiberius was born on June 21st, 2007 in Livonia, Michigan, and came home with us on August 11th. He's the cutest ball of fluff! Ti loves Augie and Augie loves Ti, even when Ti steals his bones and bites his tail. At least he makes a comfy pillow!

The first (almost) two weeks have gone really well...
Augie is a GREAT big brother. He lets Ti chew on him, sleep with him, and pounce on him, he plays chase games with toys and shares his bones, and he wrestles and makes snarly faces until they are both exhausted.
We entered Augie's video, "Augie Meets Robo-dog," in a contest on World Wide Fido. Augie won Most Outrageous for the month of August! Prizes included an engraved dog bowl, a tag for his collar, a tee shirt, a lanyard, a tennis ball, and a gift certificate for a free collar. See the winner's circle here. Thanks to everyone who voted for Augie!
The Boys Win!
Ti's video, "Ti Terrorizes His Big Brother," won Most Outrageous for the month of September, and Augie's video, "Augie's Tricks, Part II," won Best Trick! Augie won again in October for "Augie and Ti Playing,"and in January 2008 for "Augie and the Shell Game." Now that's a lot of dog bowls
Augie and Ti in the Newspaper!
Worldwide Fido contacted our local newspaper about Augie and Ti's winning videos, and they sent a reporter and photographer to our house to do a feature story on the boys. Their picture and article appeared on the front page. Here is the photo, taken by B. Bresler:
Augie Passes His CGC Test
Augie took a class to prepare him to take the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Test, which is a certification program designed to recognize dogs with good manners and basic obedience skills. Some of the areas tested included accepting a friendly stranger, sitting politely for petting, walking through crowds, and staying in place when instructed. More information on the test can be found here: CGC . Augie passed his test and received his certificate from the American Kennel Club. Here are some pictures from class graduation day:
The boys had fun this Halloween! We dressed them as Batman and Robin and took them to a party at our local Petsmart. The Caped Crusaders got to have their picture taken, meet their fellow furry trick-or-treaters, and act wild. Augie almost managed to nab a donut from a table--bad canine good citizen!
Ti graduated from puppy obedience class in October and was class valedictorian, just like his big brother Augie. And now we have an intermediate class valedictorian. For his final exam, Ti got perfect scores on stand and stay, wait with distance, change of pace while heeling, drop, and "go to your place" with distance, distraction, and duration. Way to go, Ti!

Double Dog Bakery!
We wanted to make our own all-natural dog treats for the boys, and thus the Double Dog Bakery was born! To see pictures of doggies around the US enjoying our treats, click here.
Augie Wins A Magazine Photo Contest!
We entered this picture of a younger Augie in a 2008 photo contest sponsored by a local magazine. He won the category of "Goofiest Dog!" According to the editor, "we received thousands of entries, which means it gets harder and harder to choose the winners. So the images you see in this issue really are the cream of the crop and had some tough competition." Yay, Augie!!
And still more fame might be coming the boys' way! We were contacted by a producer for CBS, who asked to have some video clips of Augie and Ti for a one-hour show on Animal Planet. Our clips may not make the final version, so keep your fingers and paws crossed for us!
Augie's Online Ad
We were contacted by the Hunt Adkins ad agency in Minneapolis, who asked to use a video clip of Augie in an online advertisement for Al Frank mutual funds. We signed a contract and received payment--and now the ad is live and playing on a number of financial websites! Yay for Augie the actor!
The boys took their first real vacation to Mackinac Island. To view the pictures, please click here!
Augie and Ti in the Newspaper Again!
We sent Augie and Ti's blog photo to the Detroit Free
Press, and they published it in the Sunday paper on
page two! Yay, more fame and fortune (minus the
fortune) for the boys

Gift From a Fan!!
We were contacted by a Russian animator, Polina Stefan (a.k.a Oha), who presented us with this fabulous caricature of Augie--isn't is amazing? We love it and thank Oha very much!
Augie and Ti in a Catalog
A pet supply catalog, KV Pet, used a picture of Augie and Ti in an ad for pet vitamins! Here's the picture, which appeared on page 7 of the Fall 2008 edition:
The boys were also in an ad for coat conditioner!
We entered the above picture in the Better Homes and Gardens magazine Halloween contest and it was selected by the editors as one of 20 finalists! It then went to the public for voting, and although we didn't win the grand prize, we were runners up and received a Visa gift card Thanks to everyone who voted for the boys!Contest Winners!
Our Halloween picture also won the Michigan Tails Magazine 2009 Photo Contest for "Best Dressed Dogs," was runner-up in a 2010 Family Vacation Getaways Halloween Contest and won first prize in the 2010 Hometown Life Halloween Contest. The boys even got their picture in the newspaper!
Ti graduated from advance obedience class and received a diploma and bumper sticker! Doesn't he look handsome in his graduation cap? His next class will probably be rally obedience, or perhaps agility like his older brother, Augie.
