From the Treat Jar

I Smell a Wabbit!

Posted on July 13, 2010 at 9:00 AM

The other day, Mom could see us through the window , running around in the backyard.  She couldn't grab her camera fast enough, because if she had, this is what you would have seen:

Yes, TWO GOLDEN RETRIEVERS WERE BEING CHASED BY A LITTLE BUNNY RABBIT!  Mom said something like, "I've never seen such a sight in my life!"  She figured there was a nest nearby, and she found it--right in the middle of OUR territory.  Now, you can move a bunny nest up to 10 feet and the mommy bunny will find it, but this one couldn't be moved out of our reach.  So....

Can you believe Mom put a fence around it?!  We just wanted to play with our new pals--geeze!

Yoo-hoo, baby bunnies--come out to play!

Here's a (shaky) video of the cuties!

You need Adobe Flash Player to view this content.

We checked on the babies daily.  And then one day--the nest was empty!  Our friends had grown up and left for adventures unknown.  Please come back, friends!

Ahhhh...you baby bunnies are so cute. We had to fence off a nest a few years ago to keep bunnies safe....but my guys never wore bunny ears to check on them. Your two are just to funny.

You boys are amazing graphic artists. That's quite a scary bunny that was chasing you! ;-) Thanks for sharing your cuteness and fun antics!

This is so cute - my friends and I are addicted to your page! My Golden is also fascinated by living creatures and will spend hours sitting and watching a possum that comes and sits just out of reach in our Frangipani tree every evening.

The bunnies are cute but you guys are adorable. We are so sorry they wouldn't come out and play with you, that would have been so much fun.

Tucker and Daisy

P.S. we are so sorry we haven't been commenting lately, we always read your blog but Mommy has not been available to take our comment dictation lately, something about being outside in the summer time AND doing lots of quilting. We are in the market for a new secretary if you know any candidates.

I am absolutely insulted that the Mommy bunny left her babies on your territory and THEN didn't even let you play. Sheesh! Did you guys fit in a hole too with your bunny costumes on? LOL
